About the Schönbrunn Palm House:
The 113-meter-long and 28-meter-high building was erected in 1881-82 after designs by Franz Xaver Segenschmid – an impressive iron-glass construction in the style of the time. Today, the building can simulate three different climactic zones: the "Cold House," the Middle Pavilion with normal temperatures and the "Tropics House."
